There is nothing like getting wrapped up in a good book. They create excitement and wonder. They teach us valuable life lessons and make us think differently about life as we know it.
Without books, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. I’ve learned so much about the places I have traveled and the ones I’ll be visiting in the future by reading books. I’ve learned about different cultures and been inspired by many people around the world who have worked hard, sometimes almost killing themselves, to save what is important not only to them but to our planet as well.
Once I find a good book, I want to recommend it to everyone I know, so each month I’ll be updating the Book Club page with recommendations for some of my favorite reads.

My sister saw Life, Love, and Elephants and knew I had to read it. The book is about Dame Daphne Sheldrick and her life living with African wildlife. She lived in Africa her whole life and married a great man named David Sheldrick. Together they worked hard to save Africa’s threaten wildlife population. Dame Sheldrick still to this day works hard to help all the elephants and rhinos that have lost their families due to poaching. Again it’s another tear jerker.
The Lost City of Z is one of those books that can really excite you. The author retraces the steps of famed explorer Percy Fawcett on his last expedition into the Amazon Jungle. Fawcett was obsessed with the idea of finding the Lost City of Z. So much that he gave his life trying. The book recounts journal entries from Fawcett’s past expedition along with his final voyage. This book is perfect for anyone with a fascination for the unknown.
